LitRPG Book Review: Fragged 2 - By: Zachariah Dracoulis
Review By: Angel Ramon Medina
So I had the pleasure of reading issue one of Fragged and I quickly got the second issue of the LitRPG series. I finally got some time to read the entire thing and I would love to give my thoughts about it. So what did I think of the second issue?
Before I get to that I would love to thank the author once again for letting me join LitRPG rebels, which is a group on Facebook that specializes in LitRPG, SciFi, and Video Games. Personally, I'm having fun in this group sharing my work and thoughts about the genre. If you got the time please check them out, it's a growing group! Onto the review now!
Rpg/Game Elements: 97/100
This second issue builds more upon the gaming system on the MMO and system messages are even funnier on this issue. Some of them are outright insulting to any player who is super sensitive. I start to get the feeling that the game is actually against the MC and it always finds ways to insult Zoey and whatever she picks up and does. New items are found as well, which is what I expected to find in the second issue. I'm sure the expansion of items will continue on the third issue.
Story: 100/100
I gave this a perfect 100 as the plot becomes much clearer and the action really picks up on this issue. Zoey becomes aggressive as her primal instincts begin to kick in and the health system finally gets reveal enhancing the story. Without spoiling too much, there is a group that is considered to be bullies and will pick on any player who dares to get too close to them. Should be interesting on how this story arc evolves in future issues. I really don't have any predictions, to be honest, lol
Dialogue: 90/100
The dialogue is improved, but there is still much ranting going on. However, I realize that this is probably going to be the tone of the series from here on out. So I better get used to it and I'm sure there will be plenty of emotional moments as the series presses on.
Overall Power Score: 95/100
Zach has done a few things differently that made this read more enjoyable and gets me even more pumped up for the next issue. After taking the average of the three scores above, this book gets a 95 or an A! Excellent work mate, still looking for that emotional moment, but I'm sure you're just teasing me right now.
