Fans of The Thousand Years War Series and video game nerds, especially Duke Nukem fans, rejoice!!! Oh baby, I'm happy to announce that in addition to my Historical Fiction Epic, I will be working on a spin-off for The Thousand Years War series. I know some fans were wondering, was I going to do another book to continue the series. The answer is yes and no...

 

You see I still won't continue the actual series just yet, but I will instead do a spin-off of the series. A LitRPG spin-off to be exact, as I will take the game mechanics of the popular FPS shooter, Duke Nukem 3D and really implement it as part of the actual story instead of just making it an afterthought in a mostly Science Fiction/Fantasy video game adaptation with only some elements of LitRPG.

 

Those who played Duke Nukem 3D and/or read The Thousand Years War 1 and/or 3 might be familiar with the weapons such as the Devastator, Freezethrower, and shrink ray along with others. What the players might realize is that those weapons need to be reloaded using ammo pickups, which was something I omitted in the actual book series. So in honor of the LitRpg genre, I will include ammo pickups, health packs, and even secret places containing goodies such as atomic health and ammo, just like the Duke had to explore himself in Duke Nukem 3D.

 

I will not just 100% copy the Duke Nukem formula, I'm thinking of adding a level up system as well based on each characters special abilities, while still keeping it true to the Game Franchise. I know LitRPG is mostly to the RPG gaming genre, but I want to try to expand it to the Sci-fi/FPS genres as well.

 

Here's the blurb of the book. It will take place the summer after the events of book one, but before book two: Framed. Angel, Maria, an Aussie friend, and a tough Brit. They all head to Angel's home island in Puerto Rico, only to find out those alien bastards, the Gloobas have decided to take a vacation to Puerto Rico as well. They threaten to turn Puerto Rico into another Alaska, nothing but ice and begin the next ice age, along with other things. So the "New" Four must abandon their vacation plans and roam all around the island to get to the source of the Glooba stronghold, which is located in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the virtual rendition of Earth. They will each have to use their inner abilities in this Duke Nukem like world and use whatever the virtual world might have to offer to not only stop the Gloobas, but also survive! Will Angel and company be able to salvage their summer vacation or will the Gloobas make Puerto Rico their playground from hell? Find out soon in, The Thousand Years War: Life's a Beach. If you love LitRPG, you will love this spin-off. However, I do recommend you read the Thousand Years War Series so you can understand the story better or at least the first book. The series might not be 100% LitRPG, but you will still have a lot of fun especially if you love science fiction and Duke Nukem and video games in general!
