Life's a Beach - LitRPG novel update #2
What's up everyone? It's time for another update of my work in progress, Life's a Beach! This week I got two chapters done and 4,000 words done, doesn't sound like a lot I know. However, I been juggling writing and marketing, keeping the momentum for my hot-selling horror series, Angel's Nightmare Adventure. A bigger reason though has been a bit of a change in the story from what I had in mind at first, I been traveling more of Puerto Rico lately and today I visited Orocovis or at least drove by there. It is the center of Puerto Rico and remains a mysterious town of the island.
So I decided that I want to put more of an emphasis on the Puerto Rican culture as I will be the future emperor of Puerto Rican LitRPG, lol! What you see above is what a Taino temple probably would have looked like, so you can say I been doing some research, which has slowed me down a bit. I feel though that putting in some of my culture will enrich the story further and after all, what's an action packed story without some crazy Indians attacking while doing their warcries?
So I wrote two chapters, although only two chapters, two solid ones with some Puerto Rican culture mixed in. Also, the Tainos will be honored as they should be in our country. Not many stories take place on the island, so I take this story rather personal as this is an opportunity to show the beauty of the island despite it being attacked by aliens. To give you a sneak peek of what I was writing about, it takes place in a mysterious Taino temple. The story assumes the Tainos are still alive and are a very hostile people who are protective of their lands. However, the gloobas plan to take them over. That leaves Angel and Steven to be the unthinkable heroes who have to save the Tainos from being erased from the world. Then they have to explore the temple, which supposedly contains a mystical force that can be a game-changer for the heroes. That is all I'll reveal for now.
I managed to reach the 30,000-word mark in my WIP, although much more will be written before the book is done!
Now I leave you with a beautiful waterfall located in Orocovis. This is also the scene for the next chapter I will be writing where Angel must survive the hills of Orocovis. However, the Tainos will not take it well with him roaming around the lands. Until next time my friends, enjoy your Friday and the weekend!
If you haven't read The Thousand Years War series that the new novel will be based on, you're in luck! The series is only 99 cents each book, that's right less than a tall pike of Starbucks coffee! So get yourself a great weekend read and catch up with the series before the new spinoff comes out roaring. Just don't get spotted by any Tainos or you might be in for a nasty surprise.
