Now that you know a little bit about Chief Irons, here is part one of the excerpt from his long journal.
September 1st, 2007
What a day so far, this is my 5th year as chief and no one respects me the same way like before. It's all evny I'm sure, maybe a little hunting will get me feeling better. After all I do need some more trophies for my beautiful room. Glad my father got me into taxidermy, it's quite the hobby as well. You know what would look nice? A nice deer head would go well in my room and maybe these maggots will start treating me with more respect. Too bad pops isn't here with me to see me as chief of police and carrying his tradition of hunting. Why am I complaining, I make a good salary and at least Bill respects me. I must be getting old...

The hunt went really well, in fact I got more trophies than I thought. Got two deer heads instead of one, plus some foxes. I guess I got my hands full tomorrow putting them up in my room. I also got a strange phone call from someone from the Hybrid Nation who says he has something to talk to me about. To be honest after the failure of the "Raven Hawk" cure, I'm sure the converstation won't mean much to me. However, I shall give him the time he wants. Who knows, they might give me a check for keeping their underground lab a secret. Sometimes I feel like I should just bust them and snitch on them to the authorities. However if the man from Hybrid gives me some promising news then I might have to rethink my options. Crime is starting to get low around here, so I'm sure I'm in store for a raise as well!
September 4th, 2007
I got a call from a man from the Hybrid Corporation and I have to say it started off unpromising. However, I got to speak to Annette Clark who is only the wife of top scientist Anthony Clark. Hmm... not to mention that Anthony is the brother of Herman Clark, who is the grandson of the head honcho of the company. So we spoke and she says that I've done a good job keeping the underground lab a total secret. What she next though would be a gamechanger... She informed me that they are working on a new "cure" but in reality its a new substance in order to create new superhumans. She offered me a handsome salary, around $150,000 a year and on top of the $200,000 I make here as chief, I will be living the high life! Now I just have to keep this a secret from the force, lest I be caught for treason or capital racketeering. So I decided to take her up on the offer, but she said she will keep me in mind as they are still in the research phase of the cure. Rats! So I have to wait a year or so.
4 Years Later...
October 1st, 2011
Four long years and finally I get an update from Annette. She says she will give me $30,000 of the $150,000, all I have to do is report to the treatment plant that is owned by them and make no intruders get too far into the sewer treatment plant. Basically I just had to shoot and kill anyone that dared to enter the sewer system and who wasn't part of the Hybrid Corporation. This would become more fun and looks like I found my new hobby which is to kill actual human beings. This might actually be more fun than killing animals, plus I'll be getting paid to do so. Even if it means I have to work through the thick of night so I don't get caught playing with Hybrid, I'll do it. Besides I'll be a rich man, father would be very proud of me. Now to just make sure that pesky Bill doesn't get too nosy into my affairs, but I can't just fire him that would make it obvious that I got something to hide. Maybe with this new found fortune, I might be able to invest some money into my real passion, which is fine art. There's a gallery not too far from the underground laboratory, I'm sure Annette can get me a deep discount on the stuff there. I think I'm going to love this new alliance.
