Another snippet of Prehistoric Crisis
I hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day weekend. I thought I would reward you with another snippet of my upcoming book, Prehistoric Crisis! According to my fans, my zombie dinosaurs are rather popular. Here is a snippet from the forest of death region, where the zombies along with zombie dinosaurs reside. Forest of Death
Entering the forest of death, he sees many dead trees and only a few that are still living. However, between the density of the trees and the constant dark skies over the forest, it has a very unwelcoming feeling. Walking through the forest, he hears noises but is unable to see anything.
“Feeling scared? Ha! This is where you’ll face your worst nightmares. Come on, I dare you to keep going!” Angelus can be heard taunting Stephen.
“As much as I don’t want to give into Angelus, he’s right I got to face my fears. Looks like I’ve walked into the evil one’s playground and he’s enjoying it.” Stephen says.
Trying to use his lens of truth, he’s unable to see anything around him. Walking deeper into the forest, he sees three possible paths. Unsure where to go, he takes the middle path and moves forward. As he continues to walk, he sees some of the trees come alive trying to grab him. Running, he jumps over the branches that try to grab him.
Getting away from the branches, he begins to develop cold sweat and simply tries to find the temple. However, all he finds are trees and more trees. Stopping for a minute, he catches his breath.
“Don’t tell me I’m lost.” He says to himself.
“Ha! No outsider has survived the forest of death. You will never defeat me!” Angelus continues to taunt Stephen.
When he stops, he can spot a horde of undead dinosaur begin to pop out of the ground. One of them slashes him from behind.
Health: 677
Armor: 186
Looking behind him, he sees that it’s an undead therizinosaurus who was attacking him. Running away from the dinosaur, he bumps into another zombie therizinosaurus who tries to bite him. He’s able to avoid the attack and continues to run around what appears to be a dead end.
Despite that though, he tries to kill all of the dinosaurs figuring that he will be rewarded with a chest that he can open. Fighting the dinosaurs one by one, he defeats half of the zombie dinosaurs without taking any damage. Beginning to fight the other half of the zombie dinosaurs, he takes damage as he fights the undead.
Health: 629
Armor: 169
Eventually, he’s able to defeat all of the zombie therizinosauruses and looks around to see if anything pops up. All he can find is another golden spider that he kills while grabbing its token.
Picked up a Golden Spider Token. This is proof that you have killed a Golden Spider of the cursed.
Golden Spider Tokens: 65
After grabbing the token, he doesn’t see a chest or anything pop up for that matter. Instead, what he sees is more zombie dinosaurs popping out of the ground.
“Haha! You thought it was over? Prepare for your doom, this is my playground that you’re in!” Angelus says evilly.
“Bloody hell! These zombie dinosaurs will continue to come out. I gotta go through the other paths.”
Stephen runs away from the zombie dinosaurs until he gets back to the fork in the path and decides to take the leftmost path. When he heads left, he manages to lose the zombie therizinosauruses and continues to move forward. When he moves forward, he is attacked by an invisible creature.
Health: 604
Armor: 154
Getting up, he uses the secondary ability of the lens of truth to reveal that he is fighting several shadow dinosaurs. These are raptors that are mostly pitch black in color and their faces don’t show. Blocking their attacks with his shield, he counters with his own sword slashes. He manages to defeat one of the shadow dinosaurs.
Instead of it dying though, the dinosaur simply disappears into a dark energy ball and flies back towards an unknown direction. One of the raptors shoots a dark energy ball that strikes Stephen hard.
Health: 553
Armor: 131
He hits the ground hard and decides to give his new weapon a try. Enabling the light sword, he begins to slash the shadow dinosaurs. In four slashes, he’s able to defeat both shadow raptors.
-52 Mana. Mana: 445
Defeating the shadow dinosaurs, he sees a golden spider on a tree that he kills with a couple of arrows and grabs the token.
Arrows: 27
Picked up a Golden Spider Token. This is proof that you have killed a Golden Spider of the cursed.
Golden Spider Tokens: 66
Moving forward, he sees more branches that try to grab him. Continuing to run through the path, he slips and is grabbed by one of the branches. Using his fire sword ability, he’s able to burn the branches before he gets eaten alive.
-15 Mana. Mana: 430
Freeing himself from the tree, he continues to move forward and keeps going until he reaches yet another dead end. However, this one has undead Trojan soldiers popping out of the ground. Checking his mana, he still has plenty of it and decides to use it to perform a spell.
Stephen performs Fireball. -75 Mana. Mana: 355
With his staff, he sends a powerful fireball to burn all of the undead soldiers and sends them back to the afterlife where they belong. After defeating the zombie soldiers, he sees a set of rocks that surround a strange looking patch of dirt. Laying a bomb on the area, he manages to blow it up revealing a hole.

Going underground, he finds a huge chest that he opens.
You have picked up a Heart Container Piece! Only one more and your Max Health will go up.
Then he sees a wall with a crack in it and uses a bomb to blow it up.

Entering through the secret passage, he finds a fountain…
Lost Sage Fountain
Seeing the fountain, he gets close it and performs the sun spell.
Stephen performs Sun Spell. -50 Mana. Mana: 305
The sunlight hits the fountain and the lost sage comes out of hiding. He begins to talk to Stephen.
“Well you must have been a very brave soul to find me in the middle of the Forest of Death. Anyway, I will increase your maximum mana. Receive the power up now.” The lost sage says as he begins to bless Stephen.
Your maximum Mana has increased! Max Mana: 1100
Your Health has also been fully restored.
Mana: 1100
Health: 700
“When battle has drained you, please return here so I can heal you back to health.” The sage says before going back into the temple.
Once he is recharged, he leaves the secret fountain and into the ray of light where he returns to the forest of death.
Forest of Death
When he gets back to the Forest of Death, he gets heads back to the fork where he started from.
“Are you lost yet? Huh!” Angelus taunts Stephen further.
“In your dreams Angelus! I’m coming for you!” Stephen replies.
Going to the rightmost path on the fork, he moves in and begins to go through the path. Rain begins to fall along with thunder as the skies darken even further. Unable to see too well, he tries the lens of truth but the darkness is too strong for even the mirror.
Activating the light sword, he doesn’t swing the sword and uses the light to illuminate the path. Following the path as he’s able to see it, he is frozen as a zombie screams while looking at him. Unable to move, he sees a small group of zombies come out of the forest. The zombie the froze him jumps and bites him.

Armor: 121
After getting bitten by the zombie, he tries to run from the horde until he is frozen by another zombie.
“Feeling scared Hero of DinoRule? Haha! I told you nobody survives the Forest of Death! I’m having so much fun torturing you!” Angelus says as he continues to taunt Stephen.
Unable to move, he is bitten by two zombies this time as he continues to see his health drain.
Health: 614
Armor: 110
After being bitten, he sees even more zombies come out of the woods in front of him. With a horde of more than 30 zombies, he knows it will be impossible to fight them all. Spotting a bridge above, he uses his longshot to latch onto the wooden bars holding the bridge.
Once he gets up there, he crosses the bridge and can spot a building up ahead. However, a couple of pterodactyls are seen in the sky ready to intercept him. To his left, he sees a cave with red lights inside. Taking a look inside, he sees that it’s a red crystal mine.
“I would be careful mining here. Not many people survive mining these crystals. In fact, just look at the bodies looking around you that are dead even the skeletons.” He can hear the voice of Rauru faintly.
He can see the corpses of those who were greedy enough to try and mine for red crystals. He decides that the possible riches are not worth risking his life along with the fate of DinoRule. Turning back, he sees that the two pterodactyls have left from the scene and the death temple is up ahead.
Running towards the Temple of Death, he knows that he has defeated the path to the house of Angelus.
“What! How did you survive the Forest of Death?” Angelus demands to know.
“I’m the Hero of DinoRule and you will never defeat me as you will soon find out!” Stephen replies with a determined look.
Walking into the Temple of Death, he knows he’s only a few moments away from meeting Angelus face to face.
