Character Profile: Danny Rivas

Originally from the Dominican Republic, Danny is a man in his mid to upper 20's. He is arrogant about his looks and tries to hit on females. However, he tends to get carried away with his charm that he tries to charm women even when the situation doesn't call for it. When he meets Maria, she is not thrilled about being hit on. However, he is a hard-worker and when duty calls, he puts the macho man attitude to the side. Armed with an assault rifle and grenades, he is armed to the teeth as he takes on the many creatures created by the Broken Arrow virus.
Despite being from the Carribean, he has made a life for himself in Cypress Hills. He even bought his own house with the help of his parents who decided to move back to his hometown in the city of Santiago. Danny was medically discharged from the Marines due to back issues after serving 4 years with them. After a few months of looking for a job, he found being a veteran a tough reality as he was unable to find work.
However on Decemeber 2012, a few months after the second outbreak he got a job with Hybrid in their HBCS division. He would be placed in the Bravo team with Nicolai and Istvan. On Septemeber 10th, 2013 he was assigned to his hometown out of all places to rescue survivors from the third outbreak in New York City. This would be his first major assignment and possibly his only with Hybrid.
He admires the bravery of Istvan, but notices as he goes through his adventure, Nicolai begins to act weird. At first, he is proud to work for the bio-engineering company. However, as he teams up with Maria and finds his way around Cypress Hills, he begins to uncover the dirty laundry that Hybrid has been keeping hidden. Then he begins to question his ethics for joining Hybrid in the first place especially when he wasn't a total stranger about the events second outbreak. Although it was a dream in Maria's head, but an outbreak did occur in East New York. Media coverage was very limited though after it was contained.
He's able to take more damage than Maria, has an assault rifle, and is able to push heavier items to clear certain paths. Danny is persistent and not the kind of person who gives up easily, even when the situation is stacked against him.
