Plot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The story opens with Amber being in a dark room. She's been drugged. She doesn't know where she is or who kidnapped her. All she knows is that he's going to hurt her. Tom Shearer and Anna Shamash are on a stakeout at a self storage facility. They enter the storage unit with the other team members. They hope to find drugs but find just one trunk. Mitz opens the trunk and Anna smells something bad. Wrapped in linen, they find a body. Anna calls Robyn to tell her to meet at the station ASAP. When she arrives, she goes to DCI Flint's office. He tells Robyn he wants her to lead the case of the body found in the storage unit. Robyn gets information that the body is a female teenager. Anna vows to seek justice for this teenager who was murdered. The team finally gets the identity of the teenager. Her name is Carrie Miller. Robyn has the task of notifying her father, Vince. Florence is a 13 year old and she's taking sexy selfies to post on a dating app called "Fox or Dog". She's on the app to find a boyfriend. She soon connects with Hunter and they chat often. Robyn and Anna are going to see Dev Khan who owns self-storage facilities because Carrie's body was found in one of his units. A woman, named Mrs. Joanne Hutchinson rented a storage unit. Robyn needs to locate her for questioning. Amber is now sick and weak. She doesn't know why he's keeping her alive. He shows her a picture....she understands. She knows she's going to die. Robyn still misses Davies - she recalls the last time they were together and the surprise she had for him. She feels incomplete without him. If she could go back in time... Ross is working a case of a missing dog. He is able to return the dog to Susanne Carlisle. Her daughter, Lauren, is talking to Ross about a friend who she thinks is missing; her name is Siobhan Connors. Ross says he'll check it out. Siobhan is being held captive. He has her cell phone. He's going to carve something across her forehead; just like Amber. Florence and Amelie are best friends but Florence starts acting differently. They end up in an argument and Florence tells her they are no longer friends. Robyn is on her way to the "Stardust Club" to talk to a bouncer, Logan Crompton; he may have known Amber. Will Robyn and her team find the killer? 3. Writing Structure ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Carol has written a story that is heart-pounding and gut wrenching! It's a timely story of online dating and cyber-bullying. I absolutely love the backstory of Robyn and Davies - it gives the reader some history of the couple. The way Carol weaves the characters of Carrie, Amber, Siobhan and how they are connected is fascinating. 4. Ending ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The ending is absolutely brilliant! The reader learns about a 4th teenager, Charlotte Chambers, who died by suicide. Robyn thinks she knows who the killer is...but her gut tells her it's not him. Who is the killer? Where is Florence? You'll have to read to find out! 5. Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is book 3 of the DI Robyn Carter Series. The series keeps getting better and better! Carol has created and developed her main characters; they are people you care about. Thank you Carol for writing such a story that is timely and relevant; online dating and cyber-bullying kills young peoples spirit and some never recover.
