1. Characters ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Erika Foster is a Detective Chief Inspector. James Peterson is a Detective on Erika's team. Kate Moss is a Detective Inspector on Erika's team. Melanie Hudson is a Detective Chief Inspector. Andy Sparks is the Superintendent. John McGorry is a Detective Constable on Erika's team. Lacey Greene is victim #1. Isaac Strong is a Forensic Pathologist. Darryl Bradley works for his father, John. Janelle Robinson is victim #2. Ella Wilkinson is victim #3. 2. Plot ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The story begins with a man who has a woman's body in the trunk of his car. She's been dead for 2 hours. He dumps her body in a trash bin. James is at Erika's house when he gets a call - a couple of students found the mutilated body of a young woman in a trash bin. They both go to the crime scene. While they are there, Superintendent Sparks asks Erika to leave. As she leaves, she sees the students in a patrol car. She walks to the car and talks to them. Erika sees the Forensic Pathologist, Doug Kernon. He identifies the young woman as Lacey Greene. He says Lacey had been tortured and found in a dumpster in January. Erika visits another Forensic Pathologist, Isaac Strong. She hopes to find similar murders. He did the autopsy on a young woman, Janelle Robinson, who was found lying on her side in a dumpster in August. She was tortured like Lacey. Lacey had met a man named Nico Brownley on Match.com. Janelle lived at the YMCA and had a coffee bike. Darryl Bradley works for his father, John, on their farm. He has numerous accounts on Match.com and Facebook. Does he know Lacey and Janelle? Erika believes the 2 women were abducted, tortured and died of extreme blood loss. Darryl talks to Ella Wilkinson as "Harry Gordon". They are going to meet at a local Indie Bar. Harry gets out of his car and approaches Ella. He asks her for directions (as a stranger) and before she knows it, he knocks her out. He quickly puts Ella in the trunk of his car. He's going back to the farm - he's going to the Oast House. He puts her in a cage, gave her water and was drugged. Her housemate, Maggie wakes up and finds that Ella isn't home. Will Erika find the killer before he strikes again? Will she seek justice for Lacey and Janelle? You'll have to read for yourself and find out!! 3. Writing Structure ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Robert has created a story that is easy to read and with great suspense! The story takes hold of you with the first page. It's a story about social media and the risks people take to meet someone. It's very timely and is a heart-pounding read! The characters continue to evolve; Erika is a strong woman, an excellent detective; but she's vulnerable, afraid to get too close to James. I think she's afraid of losing him. 4. Ending ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ OMG!!!! The ending is a roller coaster of thrills and suspense! Another young woman is abducted! Will Erika and her team finally put the pieces together and find her in time? 5. Overall ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This is Book 4 in the DCI Erika Foster series! As a fan of this series, it's like getting together with old friends! Erika, James, Kate and Melanie have evolved into great characters. Robert continues to do great work! I look forward to Book 5!
