About the land of DinoRule

Above is a picture of what will be considered the main hub or DinoRule field. This huge field is the considered the 'pathway' to the many different regions of DinoRule. Located in the southern most part of the Republic of South Africa, the mythical land is located in a rather remote area. It's location puts it away from any human interaction, although there is a research station about 8-10 miles north of what is considered DinoRule that keeps an eye for rare lifeforms. One spring day, a young man who lives for dinosaurs named Stephen bumps into this strange land and he spots dinosaurs!

This catches the attention of Stephen who goes to see his friend that invited him to the research station. What he doesn't know is that DinoRule is a mythical region with a complex society just like that of the civilized world. DinoRule is a land where humans and dinosaur get along in harmony. However, humans who are born in this land must never leave the confines of DinoRule or lest be exiled from the society forever. The society is actually rather complex contary to what an outsider might consider.

The economy is not as complex compared to the stock markets in the human world. Instead of dollar bills and coins, the dwellers of DinoRule instead use crystals as currency. They range from Blue (Least Valuable), Green (Moderate Value), and Red (Most Valuable). They are used to buy everyday items such as weapons, food, and even secret magical items that make DinoRule unlike the real world.

The blue crystals are found in common places and can be obtained doing trivial quests. They are mined in small caves in DinoRule field. Green crystals are found in a seperate island that rain almost everyday and every hour. However, the rain keeps them with their beautiful green color. Red crystals are ultra rare, but at one point they were rather common. However, the only red crystal mine is by the area known as the Forest of Death. Only a handful of people are brave enough to trek into the dark forest where the most dangerous dinosaurs lurk.

DinoRule is of course known for being the only area on Earth to have living dinosaurs and a whole variety of them as well. The majority of DinoRule field is filled with Brachiosaurus's and smaller species of Raptors. Pterodactyl's are usually found in high elevations and are used to fly towards higher ground or towards Emerald Island where the water temple resides along with the green crystals.

The land of DinoRule is beautiful, but of course just like everywhere else, its beauty is shown as long as there's peace. When under the rule of an evil force, the land can prove to be very unforgiving! DinoRule is divided into many different regions.

The first region is known as junglola. That is translated into the jungle region from the native tongue. This is the native land to the Junglolaians and it is in the eastern part of the DinoRule land. All of the local residents live in huts and the dinosaurs located are of the smaller kind. Junglola is where the jungle temple is located, legend has it that a T-Rex is guarding or even within the confines of the temple. The locals have gotten cold feet when it comes to visiting the temple. If one desires to visit the temple, they must conquer the lost jungle where the heat, humidity, and dangerous wildlife along with the hostile dinosaurs are enough to make this adangerous trek.

The next region is known as Phoenicia, named after the ancient Phoenicians. Unlike the Junglolaians, the Phoenicians live in modest clay homes and the rich live in marble villas. Phoenicia is considered one of the more mysterious lands as it plays host to three temples. There is the fire temple in Mount Phoenicia. Rumor has it that there is a hidden temple guarding the element of shadow under a graveyard. There is of course the legendary area known as the Forest of Death, which is off limits to all residents of DinoRule. The end of the dark/dangerous forest plays host to the Temple of Death. Both the Shadow Temple and Temple of Death guard the shadow element of power. Legend has it there are two sages that guard the the land from pure evil that lie in the bowels of the land. However, legend also has it that one will turn rouge and release the evil spirits. The Forest of Death contains the legendary shadow dinosaurs that cannot be seen by the naked eye.

Emerald Island is seperate from the mainland of DinoRule. While it's habitable, the the residents known as Marinas are rather depressed as it rains on Emerald Island almost everyday. They are known for mining the green crystals that hold respectable value. The only way to reach this island is to swim the deep waters or the more reliable, use a Pterodactyl to fly there. The trade winds from the south and east prevent the dry air from the main land from reaching the island. The maritime air keeps it dreary and quite depressing. Despite that the temple is said to be one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture in DinoRule. Emerald Island is considered to be a phantom island on world maps as it has never been see by mankind outside of DinoRule. The Water Temple is rumored to be under a piece of land flooded by constant rain. Emerald Island is in the southern most part of DinoRule.

To the far north, there is the extremely wind region of Neptune. Despite the name, Neptune is rather cold and not much liquid water is around. The land is rather barren in nature and considered uninhabitable for actual life. Some of the toughest species of dinosaurs can be found. The biggest draw to Neptune though is the huge mountain known as Mount Neptune. The top of the mountain is home to the wind temple. Only the most worthly have gotten to the wind temple to see the sage of wind. However, it has been over 500 years since the last human in DinoRule has seen the wind sage. The winds are rumored to reach up to 100 to as high as 200 miles per hour. The cold air during the winter tends to come from the Antartic, but under special conditions the winds can from due from from the region of Neptune spreading brutually cold conditions in all of DinoRule. The last outbreak nearly wiped out more than half of the dinosaur population, especially in the warmer areas.

The final region is due west and is called Sahara. As you can probably guess, it's a desert land. It's home to a race of thieves known as the Berbers, they have their faces covered at all times to avoid giving away who they are. The Berbers are the most hated race in all of DinoRule. However, they do live in the region that houses the Spirit Temple. The Spirit Temple sage is the most loved of all the sages next to the Sage of Light. Sahara is known as the land of peace. The path to the temple though is anything but peaceful. One must cross a desert in which a dust storm goes on forever, those who don't have the tool of truth will get lost and perish in the haunted desert. This region recieves very little rain and tends to remain hot all year long. The last cold outbreak from Neptune nearly wiped out the population of the Berbers.

I hope you enjoyed this tour of DinoRule, which is the setting of my future Dinosaur Horror/Fantasy book which should be out late summer, early fall!
